The Space

Our venue includes a living room, dining room, sunroom, kitchen, butler’s pantry, half bathroom, a furnished side porch and a three-tiered backyard. Three bedrooms are available for overnight weekend stays (more information below).

Original architectural details — including fireplaces, French doors, leaded glass windows, and original wood floors — create a distinctive and welcoming setting.

*Tables can be swapped out depending on your event vision. Standard tables are rectangular but we also have 6 high-top cocktail tables (no chairs) and 6 round banquet tables. Mix and match options are available.

Stay at The Foster

The Foster accommodates up to eight guests and is available as a private rental. A two-night minimum stay applies for overnight reservations.

Known to generations of Athens residents, alumni, and visitors, The Foster is one of Athens' most recognizable homes. With only two owners in more than 111 years, this historic English cottage offers guests a rare opportunity to experience a cherished Athens landmark from the inside.

Classic Weekend

Classic Weekends are available throughout much of the year when Athens is operating at its usual pace. Ideal for family visits, alumni returning to town, local events, and weekend getaways, Classic Weekends offer guests the opportunity to enjoy The Foster's historic character and convenient location near Ohio University and Uptown Athens.

Cottage Weekend

Cottage Weekends coincide with periods of increased demand in Athens, including football weekends, select university events, and other popular community gatherings. These weekends offer guests the opportunity to experience The Foster during some of the most vibrant times of the year while enjoying the comfort, privacy, and character of a historic home.

Signature Weekend

Signature Weekends represent the most sought-after dates on the Athens calendar, including Homecoming, Graduation, alumni gatherings, university celebrations, and select high-demand events such as Mom and Dads weekends.

These weekends are reserved for families, alumni, and guests seeking a special place to gather, celebrate, and stay together during some of the most meaningful occasions of the year. Availability is limited, and advance reservations are strongly encouraged.
